The King of Rock

If you said, “I love Elvis Costello. He is one of my favorite musicians. I think I burned a hole in his last CD from playing it so much,” I would say, “That’s awesome. More power to you. Now I know what to get you for your birthday. I hope he puts out 100 more albums and does a private show for you and your friends someday.”

But that’s not what you say.

You say, “Elvis Costello is a great song writer. He is one of the best musicians alive. His last album was the best thing anyone has released in years.”

Really, I’m sorry but how the fuck do you expect me not to go off on you and that textbook definition of affected, stale mediocrity in the key of tame flat?
