I told you Depeche Mode was gay

Tuesday, 23 January 2007

From “Love God’s Way.”

One of the most dangerous ways homosexuality invades family life is through popular music. Parents should keep careful watch over their children’s listening habits, especially in this Internet Age of MP3 piracy. [Ed: just make sure they steal wholesome music!]

Bands to watch out for [Ed: trimmed a bit]

  • Ravi Shankar
  • Ghostface Killah
  • Eagles of Death Metal
  • The Doors
  • Queen
  • The Strokes
  • Morrissey (?questionable?)
  • The Pet Shop Boys
  • Metallica
  • Judas Priest
  • The Village People
  • The Rolling Stones
  • David Bowie
  • Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  • Jay-Z
  • Depeche Mode
  • John Mayer
  • Velvet Underground
  • Madonna
  • Elton John
  • Barry Manilow
  • Indigo Girls
  • Eminmen
  • Nirvana
  • Boy George*
  • Motorhead
  • DMX
  • kd lang
  • Frank Sinatra
  • Nickleback
  • Clay Aiken
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Elton John (really gay)

In Our effort to keep this list up to date we’d appreciate your help. If you know of a band that is Gay [Ed: GLAD will be pleased to see it get the respect of a capital letter, no doubt.] or propogating a Gay message please email us so we can update. Donnie is handling this his email is: donniedavies@gmail.com

The Circle Jerks

There are so many ways to go at this…

First, anyone who needs to be told that The Village People was a gay band is so utterly disconnected from ALL sexuality he must be considered a sight-challenged eunuch.

Second, sure John Mayer and Nickleback and others on the list are gay but not in the sense of actually homosexual. Gay in the 80’s sense.

Third, Metallica? Jay-Z? Sinatra? Who made this list? Oh, yessssss… Donnie Davies.

Dear Donnie,

There is no single gayer name for a man than Donnie.
Please stick with Donald or consider a trip to courthouse
for a name a man would be proud to wear on a name
tag at a strip club.
Signed, Not-Donnie

Please do drop him a line. He needs all the help he can get.

Donnie Davies

Update: Holy wardrobe! I hadn’t even discovered the fellow’s video.

Donnie, man. Don’t be afraid to come out. Seriously. You’ll be kind of surprised how little most people will care either way.

And your band’s name is Evening Service. Evening Service? Your subconscious mind is trying to help you man. Take the hint before you end up exploring the issue secretly via dangerous and illegal paths.

Shit man... My ears have been being invaded by The Gay Agenda all my life, and I didn't even notice. Sneaky bastards. Anyone got a pitchfork?

Me too. I am afraid I might become gay every second iTunes is open now.

Of course I did fail to disclose an item… David Bowie kissed me on the ear in a dream once and I didn’t mind a bit. Hmmmmm… Maybe it is working on me.

Of course what Janet Jackson did to me a dream seems to take the ball away and run it back the other way for a goal.

I'm thinking of submitting my own name to Donnie. I'm not really planning on ever making a substantial income from my music (or my writing or anything really for that matter), but any publicity is good publicity.

Me: I wish I’d said that.

Myself: You will, Ashley, you will.
