Dear Paul Simon, Gordon Sumner, et al,

Friday, 4 December 2009

Feeling more musical than I have in years I’m trying to choke down the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert on the HBO right this second.

You know, if I wrote a popular song cycle say… oh, I don’t know… say FORTY-PLUS FUCKING YEARS AGO and I WAS UNABLE TO SELL IT WHILE STILL PLAYING IT TO BOOKEND-PROP-UP THE TIN CAN SHITE I’D WRITTEN SINCE… Why do all the wrong musicians kill themselves?

You think I’m out to get the oldsters? Ha-ha-hardly. This is the most interesting thing, by far, in the shops right now. Guess what dinosaur hit the charts a couple years after “Sounds of Silence?”

Them Crooked Vultures

Update for the edification of future programming directors: I turned it off when The Boss started talking about health care. I’m only mostly human.

No shit...I was happy with U2 though, the set sounded great....and what crack addict put Ray to perform with Metallica, the guy looked like he couldn't stand to be on stage with them. Last but not least, a side note for Tom M., there's a reason you play guitar for Rage and not sing. It's because you can't, I don't know what Mr. Springsteen was smoking, but you sucked.
