Get in the Ring

Because bull-fighting, unlike sport fishing or hunting, is a sport. Yes the animal is basically tortured until it’s exhausted and then killed. But that—up there—is always a part of the equation.

And to anyone bitching about bull-fighting, if you had a hamburger, a piece of bacon, or a chicken sandwich in the last year, take that. It’s not uniquely American to be delusional about the cost of doing business but it certainly does become idiomatic. We do love our killing as long as we don’t have to do it personally.
