The revenge of the spam filter

I wrote a simple but entirely effective comment spam filter for this site. You have to click on a link in a confirmation email to post a comment. While it’s actually not that hard to get around, it has so far been 100% effective and even stops those who would post malicious crap with a false email because they never get the confirmation. This is also easy to get around if you know what you’re doing but isn’t it the damnedest thing? Malicious persons rarely know what the fuck they’re doing.¹

This technique has so far stopped 48,779 spam comments.
