Sedition·com predictions for 2011

Friday, 31 December 2010

Someone has dragged us out of our winter hole to repeat the prognostications which made us our first million. Observe, nothing up my sleeves, nothing in my hat. Um… that didn’t come out exactly right. My hat is full of stuff and that stuff is brains, wise guy. And I need to get them to the kitchen, they turn quickly.

Teh Interwebs

TOGTFOCHA

Blawgs · Someone will invent a comment validation system like CAPTCHAs that requires you to submit a topless photo of yourself to post a comment. It will be called TOGTFOCHAs.

Wikipedia · The pages of Wikipedia will be so frequented by Jimmy Wales and his hoards of not notable editors pleading for cash that the site will become known as the Wailing Wall. We predict to be uncredited for this mordant snippet.

Politics

Politics. American politics. This should be socratic really. What do you think will happen this year? We predict you won’t answer with honesty.

Venezuela, México, Côte d’Ivoire, and Amtrak

What do these things have in common?

Speaking of pretending dates matter: 9/11 2011

The ten year anniversary of The Great September 11th Unscheduled Flight Detours will be a maudlin, unpleasant, self-indulgent, embarrassing, egocentric, oozing, media swingers’ party that will call not for reflection upon causes but upon self-inflicted wounds.

Sedition·com

We will continue to pretend to learn Spanish, which would be quite useful, and actually build software, which will not be.
