Good design is invisible design

Good design usually goes unnoticed, at least on a conscious level. It best reveals the content by getting out of the way of the content.

The user of a site with nice design doesn’t think, “Things are easy to find on this site.” He just finds them instead of leaving for another site. There are billions of pages online and millions of websites. It only takes one that’s easier to use or find to take your users away.
